As the number of false reports increase, savvy insurance companies are becoming increasingly wary of spurious claims and are subsequently becoming more rigid than ever before in checking claims.
For your household insurance to be valid, all locks on your property must be Insurance Approved locks, if not your policy is void and there will be no pay-out if the worst was to happen to you.
Guidelines for you to follow –
All external locks to your property must be to the BS3621 standard and PLEASE TAKE NOTE – BS3621 “2007”. Many properties have BS3621 “1982” or earlier, which despite stating BS3621, will not now be accepted by Insurance comp as Insurance Approved locks.
For UPVC, there is not a general Insurance Standard across the board, so it is best to take a look at your policy and give us a call so that we can help and advise you as to which steps to take.
PLEASE CALL US ON FREEPHONE 0800 0350451 for advice.
